Dale Hunter
Born
in Saskatchewan, raised in Manitoba, and now living in Alberta, I'm
a prairie boy through and through, and proud of it. I'm also
a confessed "news-aholic", with over a decade
of journalism experience.
I developed an interest in research and writing
while still in high school in Neepawa, Manitoba. After
winning awards for my documentaries on the town's history and tourism,
I was recruited to work for the local newspaper and cable tv station. I
assisted them in developing Neepawa's first television newscast.
I then
jumped to radio news. I have worked for six different
radio stations across the prairies...peaking with a brief stint as
news director in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. In 2003,
I made my return to tv, becoming first a reporter, then an anchor at
a television station in northern Ontario.
Since arriving in Medicine
Hat, I've tackled the posts of political correspondent, crime reporter,
embedded journalist, radio co-host, news anchor, and...the most difficult...weatherman.
When
I'm not co-hosting NewsWatch, I can also be found out enjoying a good
movie, a good book, a good concert, hiking in the hills, or debating
politics with whoever'll listen. 'News-aholic', remember?
